Man o man, this place is outstanding! Was staying in Sac for the night and the wifey and I were craving sushi so we hit up Yelp and it recommended this place. First of all the Asahi beer was on tap and it was the coldest beer I have ever had, order this if you like Japanese beer. We ordered the Benjamin roll, the Fiesta roll and Incredible roll. All were equally fresh and made just right. Sat at the bar and the service was damn good. Stop here if you want some outstanding sushi and cold beer.

Came for a late lunch. My daughter wanted sushi so we came here based off rave reviews on Yelp. This place is huge. Open space with 2 floors. We were seated quickly and the place was busy. Our orders came out beautifully presented and tasted fresh. Our rolls were like butter and just melted in your mouth. We ended our meal with the green tea tiramisu. Definitely come visit here for a wonderful sushi experience.

Greeted at the door with a smile , very friendly service and staff. Very cool decorations, and Japanese huge metal art. Food was fresh and everything was great tastes and the way everything looked was excellent. I would recommend Mikuni Japanese restaurant to anyone in the area or just looking for fresh food sushi. Price point is med to med high.

I went on a cold winter Tuesday night with a friend. The ambiance is modern. They have a sports bar with TVs. I've been to Mikuni's multiple times previously mainly I used to frequently the Arden one before it closed down and have been to the downtown one maybe twice. For appetizers, I ordered freaky edemame and brussel sprouts. The freaky edemame is always good. I felt like the brussel sprouts were a little bit overcooked as they were brown but they were very crispy! I ordered the chirashi bowl and the masa three roll for the main dishes. I over ordered. With the appetizers I was too full and took the roll home. They give you a humongous amount of rice with the chirashi bowl and I took the leftover rice home. The fish was very fresh in the chirashi bowl. Service was good and they checked in on us frequently. The server clearing our dishes who wasn't our main server even asked us if we wanted to go bags for our to go boxes. Mikuni's is always consistent with their quality and their fresh fish in their sushi. It is a Sacramento staple for sushi.

Omg make sure you try the BMW roll, so bomb! Everything is so freshhh! Yesterday was my first time going, I would definitely come again.

The menu comes across a little bit like the cheesecake factory because it is huge with so many choices. Whoever created the names of these dishes is a unicorn. I mean Marilyn Monroll?!? Ha! If you like cocktails, you must get the Umami Button. I am serious. It is outrageous and delicious. It is basically a lychee martini with a side of the "umami button "which you chew and it numbs your tongue, enhancing the flavor of the cocktail I know Our server went above and beyond and recommended some fabulous options. She was very friendly and attentive. Food was paced perfectly. Freaky edemame Warm with lots of spice and a good size portion- yum What can I say? It was almost impossible to choose between all of the delicious sushi options. We chose the three rolls below, and I have to say we could not pick a favorite because we loved them all. Since there are so many ingredients, absolutely bursting with flavor the fish gets a little lost. (in that case order the sashimi.) presentation was outstanding. The lobster shell on top of the DMC roll was visually stunning. I've never seen anything like it at a casual sushi spot. Today we had the pleasure of dining at Mikuni in Downtown Sacramento with a group of six friends, and it was an unforgettable experience! Really love this place. Their location, their art, their ambience is always top tier. Had a bartender today named Tristan which is driving me to put this review in. He helped in guiding us towards drinks which induced an amazing time. I had the Marilynn roll and Midtown roll which were both to die for.
